What are Villager Puzzles?

When we first discovered this beautiful puzzle brand on social media, we knew straight away that we had to bring them to Gaia. Villager Puzzles shines a spotlight on the work of talented Canadian female artists – a mission we’re proud to support. Their aim is to promote puzzling as a form of self-care and a way to rediscover meaningful downtime - something we wholeheartedly believe in too! 

Who are the artists?

Meet Tabbetha

Tabbetha Gasper is an artist, mother, and lawyer whose creative spirit is shaped by the landscapes she’s called home - from the rugged West Coast to the wide-open skies of the Canadian prairies. She’s been making art for as long as she can remember, always drawn to the beauty of everyday moments. Working in acrylics and mixed media, Tabbetha’s colourful, expressive pieces invite us to pause, look closely, and reconnect with the natural world around us.

Meet Anja

Anja Jane is a nature-inspired illustrator whose work reflects a deep reverence for the Earth. Drawing from her Norwegian and Polish roots, she creates whimsical, folk-style designs that celebrate the quiet beauty of the natural world. Based on Bowen Island in British Columbia, Anja weaves her values of sustainability and connection into every piece, using her art to encourage others to slow down, look closely, and fall in love with nature - and to protect it.

Meet Tara

Tara Younggren is the artist behind 2AM Illustrations - a passion project that grew into a full-time creative journey after years of teaching art. Based in Alberta, she now brings her thoughtful, expressive style to illustrations, patterns, and branding for makers and businesses across Canada. When she’s not drawing, Tara’s often curled up with a good book, dreaming of the perfect cosy library!
